When we started this top ten count down of the ten best moments in P-M athletics for the 2018/2019 school year, Mustangs fans did not have to think long and hard what moment would be number one. Going into the football season last fall, the Mustangs knew they had a team that not only could contend for a spot in the UNI-Dome, but could win the whole thing. The Mustangs more or less steamrolled through the regular season with their closest game, a week two 29-to-six win over West Marshall. That script went largely unchanged through the playoffs as PCM won a first round game over Kuemper 49-0, blasted Williamsburg 55-34 a year after allowing the Raiders to upset the Mustangs in the first round and in the semi-finals at the UNI-Dome, PCM blanked West Liberty 27-0 and dominated Boyden Hull/Rock Valley 28-7. In that state title game, Reed Worth passed for 271 yards and three touchdowns while record setting back Wes Cummings carried the ball 26 times for 130 and a touchdown. PCM finished its season 13-0.
