The 2019 McKay Group Nationals Parade is Today. The parade will begin in downtown Knoxville at 11 am. Downtown parking will be blocked off beginning at 6 am and last until the conclusion of the parade. This year’s parade is the last Nationals parade for Knoxville Police Chief Dan Losada as he will be retiring in the spring. Losada tells KNIA/KRLS News since he will be retiring in the spring and this is his last parade people better be smiling because if they don’t, they could end up wet. Losada says if anyone wants to take him on in a water fight they are more than welcome. He says he will be the last thing coming through during the parade and he will be armed with a squirt gun. Some of the featured guests as well as this year’s parade dignitaries will include Brad Sweet, the 2018 Knoxville Nationals winner, the 2019 A main front row; the 2019 Nationals Queen Sydney Nivens and her court among others.
