Representative Cindy Axne made a visit to the Indianola farmers market Saturday morning, talking with local farmers and shoppers. The visit was part of a 15 county trip for Axne, 5 of which were made Saturday, and she tells KNIA News what she is hearing from farmers around the district.
“Obviously Iowa is in a world of hurt right now with our ag community, with what we are seeing with this current administration and the president and his continued trade wars. So I’m just getting a tap on what our farmers our feeling, and I want to take that information back with me to talk with the administration and the USDA, and make sure that we are doing everything that we can during this struggle for our agriculture community and our farmers to give them the best opportunity that we can find for them.”
