After months of work, the City of Indianola has completed the preliminary work on the East Hillcrest Trail connector, joining the north side of Hillcrest Ave near the Indianola YMCA to the south side of town. City Manager Ryan Waller tells KNIA News updating the trail system was one of the goals by the council, city staff, and the community.

“This has been a project that the community has been asking for, connecting the YMCA to the rest of the town along Hillcrest. There is a series of patches to improve the trail that will be a great improvement to our community for multi-modal transportation for bikes or walking. Our staff did a great job, they had to work through a series of obtaining easements from property owners to put the trail in.”
