The Pella City Council will have several items to address after their regular meeting Tuesday during policy and planning. Council will discuss a proposal in conjunction with the PACE Alliance as it relates to providing city incentives for the community to become part of the Home Base Iowa initiative. The program helps military veterans and transitioning service members find jobs in the state. An update about the Tuttle Cabin Learning Walkway will also be given. The project installing a walkway connecting Tuttle Cabin and the Sunken Gardens Park will be paid for completely by the Historic Pella Trust and maintained by the city, and a review of potential timelines will also be held. Council will continue discussion on the Oskaloosa Street building permit moratorium and an update about increasing signage allowed in drive-thru restaurants as well. Policy and planning follows the regular Pella City Council meeting Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Public Safety Complex.
