Winners of the fourth annual Des Moines Corporate Games were recognized on the Grand Concourse. Seventy-seven Des Moines area companies and over 14,000 employees participated in 25 sports and events from June 1 to July 31 as part of the Corporate Games. Pella Corporation was the Division 1 champion. After finishing second in 2018, Pella Corp edged out defending champion Corteva Agriscience to seize the Division 1 Corporate Cup. In addition to the physical activities offered, two challenges were offered in 2019 to promote service within the community. The Blood Donation Challenge was held for the third straight year. Supplies of blood products typically run low in the summer, and the Des Moines Corporate Games participants partner with LifeServe Blood Center to increase donations during these crucial months. The Des Moines Corporate Games partnered with Meals from the Heartland for the first time to create a challenge aimed at providing volunteer opportunities for participating companies to package meals that serve hungry people in the Des Moines area and around the world.
