Indianola residents continue to earn honors during the 2019 Iowa State Fair, this time with prowess using the oven in the Midwest Living Cookies competition held last week. Kim Van Patten took home a first place finish in the Bar Cookies – Three-Layer Bars Other Than Named category, Diana Barker won the Molded or Pressed – Snickerdoodles division, Diana Barker won the gold in the Drop Cookies – Oatmeal Raisin category, while Brooklynn Sedlock won first place and Faith Ward won third place in the Youth – Drop Cookie category.
