Nearly all of the major skill positions return for the Knoxville Football Squad, who went 3-6 last season, with a largely inexperienced team. Coach Eric Kellar tells KRLS Sports not only do the Panthers have almost 100% of their rushing and receiving corps back, but they are deep at those spots as well. Kellar says defense may be the best thing about his team. Kieren Nichols is the quarterback and that was established as the clock ran out on the season last year. Nichols returns to the Panthers as the team’s leading rusher as 607 yards on the ground last season, he also expects the passing game to be improved as the Panthers only generated just over 30 yards per game through the air in 2018. Kellar adds Mike Hudson has become stronger over the offseason. Ben Olson and Keegan Cox return all with receiving experience. Knoxville opens the season in 2019 next Friday at home against Fairfield.
