The Knights of Columbus in Pella are kicking off the 21st Annual Campaign for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities Saturday. In addition to raising funds for local organizations and schools impacting people with disabilities, the organization this year is supporting the job placement program at Christian Opportunity Center. Cathy Wilson with COC has been working with local businesses and industry to find potential work opportunities in the community for the people they serve. Wilson says they’ve placed several individuals and found unique fits at businesses to improve both ends of the partnership. Wilson is hopeful local businesses will reach out to COC to find places for adults with special needs to find meaningful jobs for the betterment of the communities COC serve. Hear more about the efforts of Christian Opportunity Center on today’s Let’s Talk Pella. The Knights of Columbus is partnering with athletes from Pella and Pella Christian to collect donations at the Pella Hy-Vee, Fareway, and Walmart August 24-31.
