The Pella City Council will put a hold on discussing the future of Big Rock Park. At this week’s meeting, Mayor Jim Mueller said a committee to determine the future of a disc golf course at the park will not be created until early next year. Pella City Administrator Mike Nardini says while it was the intention of the council to address the project this month, several major initiatives ongoing in the city require more immediate attention. Council is expected to spend the next four months advancing work on the telecommunications utility, determining the future of the Pella Community Center, drafting housing and economic development agreements, and preparing city parks for next year’s Tulip Time.
