The Indianola Public Library’s Summer Reading Program officially came to an end, marking a year of high participation. Janis Comer with the library tells KNIA News the theme this summer was A Universe of Stories, with elementary school kids participating in a space boot camp, and older kids participating in a teen space program. Comer also said getting the older kids involved was a huge success this year.
“Teens are tough because they are awfully busy even in the summer. School time is busy, but with the summer many have jobs or other things going on so getting them in the library can be tough, but they turned out in droves this year and I think all of them had a really great time.”
