The Twin Cedars Football Squad committed seven turnovers and that was its undoing as the Sabers fell to English Valleys 47-8 in a week zero game on Friday. The game was actually close at halftime with the Bears leading just 6-0 but a 26 point third quarter turned a close game into a blowout. The only score for the Sabers was a Hunter McCombs 41 yards pass from Brayden DenBurger with 45 seconds left in the game to avert the shut out. Coach Cam Parker told KRLS Sports turnovers hurt his team dearly as they were deep in English Valleys territory on three of those drives. Levi Messamaker had 44 yards on the ground to lead the Sabers while Dallas Clark 10/18 for 99 yards a touchdown and two interceptions. Hunter McCombs had 56 yards receiving with a touchdown. Twin Cedars starts off 0-1 on the season and travels to Moravia next week.
