
A fatal motorcycle accident occurred on Highway 69 over the weekend, with an Indianola man passing away due to injuries. According to the Iowa State Patrol Crash Report, a motorcycle driven by Betty Husted of Ankeny lost control near the intersection of Highway 69 and Norman St. southwest of Liberty in Clarke County, leading to Husted and passenger Douglas Raymond being ejected from the vehicle. Husted was transported via Mercy One Helicopter after sustaining serious injuries, while Raymond was also transported via helicopter to Iowa Methodist Hospital and pronounced dead. Neither the driver or the passenger were wearing helmets, and the report states Husted was an inexperienced/unlicensed driver. The crash is under investigation.
