
The Knoxville School Board met in regular session Monday. The board approved the resignation of Coy Hupfeld as the Head Varsity Softball Coach and approved the hiring of Turner DeVore as the Head Varsity Baseball Coach. They approved the 2019-2020 Knoxville Home School Assistance Program Handbook as well as set a public hearing date of September 9th at 5:30 pm to discuss the proposed issuance of approximately $4,300,000 school infrastructure sales, services, and use tax revenue refunding bonds. Business Manager Craig Mobley explained to the board that he had received a proposal from Piper Jaffray to issue refunding bonds for outstanding bonds for the Knoxville Performing Art Center project. Mobley told the board the life of the bond debt would not be extended however, the debt would be paid off or refinanced and issuance of the new bonds would save the district close to $116,000. The board also approved the renewal of a Medicine and Athletic Training Agreement with 21st Century Rehab as well as held a closed session to evaluate the professional competency of an individual whose appointment, hiring, performance, or discharge was considered with no action being taken.
