Christian Opportunity Center’s community-based employment program continues to grow, and the city’s largest employer is also participating. Vermeer HR Director Kate Guess says they’ve worked with COC to include people they serve at the corporation’s coffee shop in the Corporate Office. Guess says the partnership has been mutually beneficial, as the new employees have made a real impact among the rest of the team. The Knights of Columbus Campaign for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities continues until Saturday, with donations benefiting Pella and Pella Christian special education, COC, the Iowa Special Olympics, and the Pella Kiwanis’ Wonder Spelen project.
