Drivers planning to hit the roads for the Labor Day weekend are asked to do so safely. Lt. Paul Haase with the Pella Police Department says officers locally and around the state will be participating in the Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau sTEP enforcement wave through Tuesday. Haase says officers will be paying extra attention to those speeding, not wearing a seat belt, driving while distracted, and those who are intoxicated behind the wheel. Haase says adhering to all traffic safety laws and using patience is the best way to avoid serious crashes on the road.
