The Indianola YMCA held a “Fireside Chat” Wednesday evening, discussing the latest information on the future of the facility in Indianola. President and CEO of YMCA Greater Des Moines Leisha Barcus tells KNIA News no matter what the circumstances, the YMCA will not be cutting back on any scholarship funds for those who can’t afford a membership.
“As a not-for-profit organization, we are here for all people. No matter who you are or whatever your socioeconomic status is. So, if you are unable to pay the full rate we offer scholarships to work with people on an individual basis so that people can pay what they can and still have access to all the Y offers, and that is a really important part of our mission.”
