The ball goes up in the air for the first time this season at Ken Locke Stadium as Knoxville will host Fairfield in week one of the high school football season. The Panthers are coming off a 3-6 campaign in 2018 with a very inexperienced line up that featured a lot of sophomores. Those tenth graders are now a year older and a bit stronger in 2019. Coach Eric Kellar tells KRLS Sports they also are in better shape because he felt in a lot of games last season the players ran out of gas. He hopes this season with the guys are in better physical condition they will be ready for four quarters. The Panthers will face a Fairfield program that went through a coaching change over the offseason. Kellar adds the Trojans do things a little differently and they may not pass as much knowing they lost a senior quarterback, who passed for 890 yards. You can hear the action on 95.3 KNIA and kniakrls.com with the pregame show starting at 6:30.
