Tulip City volleyball fans got a taste of Tuesday’s upcoming clash between the Lady Dutch and Eagles in official conference play this week. At the Bondurant Invitational Saturday, Pella and Pella Christian competed in the tournament, with Pella edging out their cross town rivals 2-1 (17-25, 21-15, 15-8). Overall, the Lady Dutch finished 5-1, defeating Carroll, Burlington Notre Dame, Woodward-Granger, and Williamsburg, and falling to No. 11 in 4A Gilbert. Pella Christian went 3-3 in the tournament, defeating Boone, WIlliamsburg, and Woodward-Granger, after falling to No. 6 in 1A Holy Trinity and Ames. Pella and Pella Christian both open conference play against each other Tuesday at Eagle Lane.
