This morning, residents of Marion County will have two opportunities to learn more about Marsy’s Law. The Marsy’s Law for Iowa organization will be hosting a Road to Rights Community Coffee event in Pella and Knoxville to give community members the opportunity to learn more about the movement to give Iowa crime victims equal rights in Iowa’s constitution. Marsy’s Law, if passed by the legislature and approved by voters, would ensure crime victims and their families are provided the same constitutional rights as the accused. Iowa is one of only 15 states that does not currently constitutionally protect victims’ rights. The Road to Rights Community Coffee event will take place at The Sanctuary Coffee House, Christian Books and Gifts located at 719 Franklin Street in Pella at 8 am and again at The Coffee Connection located at 213 E Main Street in Knoxville at 10 am.
