The Knoxville City Council met in regular session Wednesday. The council approved a resolution accepting work and final cost for the Youngs Park Improvement Project. They approved traffic control changes at the South Roche and West Robinson Street intersection which will permanently block off a few parking spots on Robinson Street to allow for better sight in the intersection. Knoxville City Manager Aaron Adams tells KNIA/KRLS News the city started with taking a lot of parking away and then slowly was able to give some back to the businesses to make the intersection safer. Adams says, while the change isn’t ideal for everyone, he believes it is the best outcome for the city and businesses in the area. The next Knoxville City Council meeting is scheduled for Monday, September 16th.
