Off to an 8-0 start after Tuesday’s domination over Chariton, the Class 4A #15 Knoxville Volleyball squad has sights set on not only winning a third consecutive South Central Conference title, but to return the program to past glory. Knoxville has qualified for the state tournament eight times in program history, but none since the early 90s, when the current players were years from being born. Players Marley McKay and Maggie Wilkins tell KRLS Sports they invited former coach Kurt Froyen, who took Knoxville to many of those state tournaments to tell them what it takes to get to Cedar Rapids. Knoxville is off for the week until Tuesday when the Panthers host Albia in another South Central Conference match.
