farm-crawl-3

The annual Farm Crawl event which has taken place through South Central Iowa the past 12 years will not be held this year. The event will take a break this year due to “Farm Crawl fatigue” according to the group’s Facebook page. According to the post, a few farms were planning to continue events until an EF3 tornado struck the town of Lacona on August 19th. The tornado uprooted apple trees as well cleared the trees of apples and ripped greenhouses open. The group however hasn’t completely put an end to the event which sees hundreds of visitors each year. The group says they will get together after the winter and determine their next steps forward.
