The Pella City Council approved the final contact for several asphalt overlay projects completed over the past year. City Administrator Mike Nardini says multiple main corridor streets were resurfaced earlier this year by Grimes Asphalt, including Broadway and Jefferson Streets, portions of Washington Street, and the Volksweg Trail. The intent of the project was to extend the effective life of those roads, many of which are among the most used in town.

Roads included:

-Broadway Street from Washington to Adams
-Washington Street from West 5th to West 6th
-Clark Street/T17 south of Highway 163 to the city limits
-Jefferson Street from Main to East 2nd
-East 8th Street from Oskaloosa to University
-Bruce Lane
-Country Club Drive
-Edgewood Drive
-Volksweg Trail along Idaho Drive
-Alley behind City Hall from Washington to Franklin Streets
