The Pella City Council approved a resolution forming a development agreement with the Pella Kiwanis at their meeting Tuesday. Council completed an official partnership between the entities to construct the Wonder Spelen Miracle Playground at Kiwanis Park in Pella, with the non-profit fundraising the majority of costs, while the city will provide up to a $320,000 match. Completion is expected in 2021. Council approved a licensing agreement with Windstream for use of public right-of-way, a final plat for the Bos Landen Estates, and a final contract for the Vermeer Trail project. At policy and planning, council discussed the guidelines for becoming a Home Base Iowa Community, with formal consideration coming at a later date. Additionally, the council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, November 5th was moved to Monday, November 4th due to the upcoming council elections.
