Simpson College held their annual athletic benefit at the Echo Valley Country Club in Norwalk Thursday, raising money for their athletic programs. The benefit, which was separated into two portions including golf in the morning and the Wayne Carse Memorial Dinner in the clubhouse later in the day, aims to raise money by putting together the staff, student-athletes, and community together to see the benefit of the programs. Athletic Director Bob Nutgrass tells KNIA News one of the core aims of Simpson College is to have an impact on the community, and this benefit is one of the ways they can do that. Nutgrass also said the funds raised from the benefit go towards many of the extra things that the athletic department can’t always budget for.
