A tired Pella Christian volleyball team couldn’t find its footing against the competition at the Bondurant Tournament Saturday, going 1-5 overall. Playing a five-set epic with Indianola Tuesday and one set short of the maximum at the Des Moines Christian tournament Thursday seemed to have an impact for the Eagles, according to Head Coach Joanna Settles. But despite that exhaustion, the Eagles were able to knock off Atlantic in three sets for their lone win, and fought hard against eventual invitational champion Cedar Rapids Kennedy, falling in the 3rd set of that match 17-19. There isn’t much rest for the weary Eagles, who sit at 8-13 overall, as they hit the road to Grinnell Tuesday.

Pella was able to get some traction back after a tough two weeks at the Ballard Volleyball Invitational Saturday. The Lady Dutch split in their matches 2-2. Pella’s record is now 10-8 and they travel to Newton Tuesday. Stay tuned to local sports Monday for more details from the Lady Dutch at the Bombers’ home tournament.
