The Marion County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday. The board approved a joint city/county agreement with the city of Pella regarding the establishment of the Lely Urban Renewal Area. They approved the 2nd reading of a proposed zoning map amendment regarding Sanctuary Gardens as well as approved the funding request for vehicle replacement for $32,175 for the Heart of Iowa Regional Transit Agency to replace one bus and one van. The board held a discussion regarding an Aging Resources of Central Iowa transportation funding cut backfill in which the board chose to table the discussion for another meeting. They approved a site plan for expansion of commercial property located at 1877 Highway 14 in Knoxville as well as approved Jennifer Geery as authorized to sign sheriff’s deeds. The board also held a discussion regarding a proposed commercial wind energy ordinance with no action being taken.
