Two election forums will be held in Knoxville to help voters learn more about local candidates before the November 5th election. KNIA/KRLS Radio will hold both Knoxville City Council and Knoxville School Board Candidate Forums in October with the Knoxville School Board Candidate Forum to be held first on Wednesday, October 16th, at 6:30 pm at KPAC. Knoxville Schools Superintendent Cassi Pearson tells KNIA/KRLS News the district is looking forward to the forum. Pearson says the forum will be held at the Knoxville Performing Arts Center at 6:30pm and she hopes each candidate will participate in the event and help voters get to know them before the vote.
In addition to the school board forum, a Knoxville City Council Candidate Forum will be held on Tuesday, October 22nd at 6:30 pm on the second floor of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum. Six candidates are currently running for the three available spots on the Knoxville City Council and all six candidates are being invited to take part in the foruml. Both forums will be broadcast live on 95.3 and 1320 KNIA.
