Historic Pella Trust is raising funds for a unique project connecting historic Pella landmarks. Executive Director Jennifer Van Kooten says the Tuttle Learning Walkway is a path bringing together the Tuttle Cabin with the Sunken Gardens Park, with educational opportunities along the way. Van Kooten says Historic Pella Trust is raising funds for the project that will be maintained by the City of Pella, with the goal of starting construction as soon as possible. She says the entire organization is thankful for the support they’ve received so far, with the hope that many will join them in an effort to share more about Pella’s rich history. In addition to the fundraiser, Historic Pella Trust is celebrating its 25th anniversary on Thursday, October 10th at 6:30 p.m. in the Pella Opera House. The historical preservation organization will host Dave Baker and his presentation titled “The Other Side of the Tracks: The Railroad, Manufacturing, and Industry that Built Pella.” They will also have their annual business review, homeowner and landmark awards, and more, with 25th anniversary cake, hor d’oeuvres, and historic displays.
