The Pleasantville Trojans opened district play by hosting Colfax-Mingo, in a game streamed on KNIA3. The Trojans and were able to pull away in the end and celebrated Homecoming with a 57-28 victory.
It did not come easily for Pleasantville, as Colfax-Mingo marched straight down the field on the game’s opening drive to take a 7-0 lead. Isaac Mann would score two first quarter rushing touchdowns to give the Trojans a lead that they would never end up relinquishing. Each team scored once in the second quarter to make it 22-14 Pleasantville at halftime.
Cale Anthony had two touchdowns in the third while Colfax-Mingo had one of their own from Jayden Horrach. A touchdown pass to Trystin Ross to start the fourth quarter got the Tigerhawks within 36-28, but Anthony added two more touchdowns while Colfax-Mingo turned it over on downs and fumbled on their final possession. Isaac Mann added another score to put the finishing touches on a 57-28 win. Coach Mack Jorth was proud of how his team was able to handle a dangerous offense and put away the game in the end.
Cale Anthony finished with four rushing touchdowns while Isaac Mann had three. Pleasantville improves to 4-1 overall and 1-0 in district play. Up next is their first road game since Week 1, a trip to Pella Christian.
