Additional heavy rainfall is possible this week, beginning late tonight into Tuesday. Chances of periodic showers and thunderstorms will continue through Wednesday, with widespread precipitation totals between 1-3 inches during that time, and heavier amounts possible. Localized flooding will be a threat and road conditions may quickly deteriorate. Over the weekend, most of the region received 1-2 inches of precipitation (see below). Uncomfortable heat is in the forecast today, with heat index values topping out near 95 degrees.
