The 2019 Knoxville Homecoming King and Queen were crowned during the annual pep rally Thursday. Cade McDonald and Claire Fay were named this year’s homecoming king and queen in front of a packed house at the Knoxville High School Gymnasium. Other members of the homecoming court recognized at Thursday’s pep rally included, Queen candidates Meredith Clingman, Abbey Jackson, Katie Keitges, Anna McDonald and Lauren Micetich and King candidates Kyle Ramsey, Ben Olson, Cooper Worth, Dom Avon,and  Ian Crossett. The homecoming king and queen will now preside over today’s homecoming parade, which begins at 3 pm.

Also today, the Knoxville Music Boosters have once again teamed up with the Knoxville Hy-Vee for the annual Homecoming Tailgate Party. This year, the event will also feature Full Service at the Pump at the Knoxville Hy-Vee Fast and Fresh Express Gas Station. Following the parade the boosters and Knoxville music students will be pumping customer’s gas and washing windshields for a free will donation. The tailgate will feature a meal with a choice of a pulled pork sandwich, burger, or hot dog, as well as potato salad and a drink. Adults cost  $5, children cost $3 and families cost $12. All proceeds raised from the tailgate will go towards the Knoxville K-12 music programs. The KNIA/KRLS Big Red Radio will be on location playing music and making announcements.
