The journey to a district title takes a stop with the team that ended a long streak of championships for the Pella football team this evening. The Little Dutch welcome Oskaloosa to the Tulip City in week seven as playoff implications continue to loom large over the final three contests. The Indians join Pella as the only undefeated teams in Class 3A District 7, with both sitting at 2-0 and tonight’s game giving the winner a distinct advantage over the final two weeks of competition.

Pella Head Coach Jay McKinstrey says tonight’s chilly air and strong winds will likely force both teams to lean more heavily on the running game, which he says has been a strength of Oskaloosa this season.

McKinstrey is excited, however, that the team is as healthy as they have been since week two of the season, and he hopes those who are returning from the mend can provide a needed boost to their offense, especially on the ground.

Coverage from Pella High School begins at 6:30 p.m. on the KRLS2 stream, with kickoff at 7:30.
