A Melcher-Dallas man was arrested Tuesday after a search warrant was served at his residence. According to court documents, when law enforcement officers announced their presence at the home, 28-year-old Levi Vanderecken ran out the front door and attempted to run away. When Vanderecken was running, he allegedly threw a black box, which contained 44 units of THC cartridges. The THC cartridges indicated they possess a high level of THC and weighed approximately one gram each. Based on the amount of THC items obtained by officers, the presence of a digital scale and messages on Vanderecken’s phone, officers determined that Vanderecken was distributing THC. Upon further investigation, drug paraphernalia was located in a room with items within reach of Vanderecken’s young children. Vanderecken also admitted to smoking marjiuna in the home. Vanderecken was arrested and charged with failure to affix a drug tax stamp, a class D felony, a controlled substance violation, a class D felony, and three counts of child endangerment, all aggravated misdemeanors.
