The Knoxville Octoberfest continues today as different activities will be held throughout Knoxville to celebrate. Activities include the first ever Knoxville Alumni Association Bags Tournament that will be held on the square at the Atlantic and Pacific beer garden at 2 pm. The tournament is $25 per team. Maureen Nichols with the Alumni Association tells KNIA/KRLS News the proceeds from the bags tournament and other Alumni Association events go towards scholarships for graduating seniors at Knoxville High School. The Atlantic and Pacific Pub will also host their BBQ for Badges event today as well with sampling taking place from 5 to 7 pm with live music to follow. All proceeds from the BBQ for Badges event will go towards Marion County Emergency Services. Other local businesses will also hold different events on the square throughout the day as well. The community-wide effort will include live music, food, drinks, store sales, dances, and more. The KNIA/KRLS Lil Big Red Radio will be on location playing music and making announcements.
