From the first play of the game, it was Pella’s night as they took control of Class 3A District 7, blasting Oskaloosa 35-3 in a game heard live on KRLS2.

An opening interception by Josh Warner turned into six quick points for Pella, and after a second drive fumble by the Indians, the Dutch struck again to take an early two score lead. The Dutch Defense held firm from there, holding Oskaloosa to under 100 yards until late in the contest.

Head Coach Jay McKinstrey says the key was the two early turnovers and converting on those to take complete control of the game from the onset.

Levi Roose had a big game for the Pella defense, with two sacks and another 2 ½ tackles for loss, and Logan Shetterly had another starring role on offense, with 113 yards and three receiving touchdowns.

Pella is 5-2 overall and 3-0 in the district, and look to make it 4-0 against Newton on the road Friday.
