Shortly after noon Friday emergency crews responded to the call of a fire at a home in Melcher-Dallas. When crews arrived, they made entry to the home and found an unresponsive woman on the floor of the residence. The woman, identified as 39-year-old Amanda Lewis, was airlifted to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines and has since been airlifted to Iowa City. The home was a total loss. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, according to Marion County Sheriff Jason Sandholdt. Stay tuned to KNIA/KRLS as updates become official.
