A new consolidation of a training program will bring professionals to Indianola for years to come, as the Missouri Valley Line Constructors and Apprenticeship and Training Program is consolidating their training programs to an Indianola location. Executive Director of the Missouri Valley Line Constructors and Apprenticeship and Training Program Robbie Foxen tells KNIA News these will be high paying jobs that are in need of applicants, and will bring a lot of activity to the area. City Manager Ryan Waller tells KNIA News this will be a big economic benefit.

“They are going to be going from around 1,400 students annually to about 2,300 students, that will be living and training there. Those students will need a place to go fill up their cars, buy some sodas, go out to eat, or buy some groceries, and that is most likely going to happen here. So as these folks are spending money here, we can use that local option sales tax to benefit the community.”

The new facility in Indianola will be located at 1600 E Iowa St., and projected to cost $13.5 million. For more information, tune in to this In Depth with Dr. Bob Leonard.
