The Knoxville community came out Friday and Saturday to take part in the first ever Knoxville Octoberfest event. The event was held in conjunction with Knoxville Homecoming events such as the parade Friday afternoon and the Knoxville Alumni Association’s first ever bags tournament Saturday afternoon with proceeds from the tournament going towards scholarships for this year’s Knoxville graduating class. The BBQ for Badges event presented by Atlantic and Pacific Pub was also featured Saturday with different BBQ connoisseurs putting their best BBQ efforts together to raise money for Marion County Emergency Services. Other local businesses also held different events on the square throughout the weekend as well. The community-wide effort included live music, food, drinks, store sales, dances, and more. The KNIA/KRLS Lil Big Red Radio was on location playing music and making announcements.
