The Knoxville Cross Country Squad heads to Osceola for the South Central Conference Cross Country meet today. The weather should be ideal for running with temperatures in the mid-to-upper 50s. The Knoxville girls will have a tough challenge as Davis County is favored to win the meet as the Mustangs are ranked fifth in the latest class 2A rankings according the Iowa Track Coaches Association with Chariton being a team to watch. Knoxville’s Norah Pearson is favored to win the girls individual race as she is ranked number five in class 3A and the highest ranked freshman in the state in that class. On the boys side, Albia and Davis County are expected to be the favorites as the Blue Demons are ranked sixth in class 2A and Davis County is tenth. The race is scheduled to get underway at 4:30.
