Voting is underway to select the 12 finalists for the 2020 Tulip Queen and Royal Court. Twenty local high school seniors have accepted nominations from the community to have the chance to represent Pella ahead of the 85th annual Tulip Time. Ballots are published in this week’s local newspapers, which can be submitted to Pella Historical Society, the Pella Hy-Vee, Pella Fareway, or Marion County Bank. Head of the Tulip Queen Selection Committee Lori Lourens says the ballots need to be filled out completely in order to count, with no photocopies being accepted. Voting ends at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, October 22nd. The 2020 Tulip Queen’s Announcement Party will be held on Saturday, November 16th at Pella Christian High School, with tickets going on sale November 7th. The crowning of the 2020 Tulip Queen and Royal Court will also be aired live on 92.1 KRLS, the official radio station of Tulip Time.
