The Future Ready Iowa Program will be holding a collaborative, public-private partnership event in Indianola this morning, one of 27 such events being held around the state. The Future Ready Iowa Program aims to grow the skilled workforce in the state, and the program will include presentations about hiring and retaining underrepresented populations, enhancing high school to workforce pipelines, collaborating with community partners, and financial resources to support these efforts. Iowa Workforce Development Director Beth Townsend tells KNIA News the program involves a lot of data including wages, travel times, job development, and skills among many others, and those data points drive the program forward to make sure the state is staying ahead of the curve in terms of employment. The Indianola event will take place at Downing, Inc. from 7-9:30am.
