Close, but not quite — that’s the story of the Pella Christian volleyball team in the Little Hawkeye Conference this season. The sixth place Eagles fell to three league opponents in five sets twice, including then-ranked Indianola and No. 10 Oskaloosa at home in matches that came down to the final few points. Seniors Emma Dunsbergen and Anna Van Zee say the team is ready to try and get over that hump and win some games this Thursday against the conference one more time. Hear more from the Pella Christian volleyball seniors at 6:00 this evening on the Radio Sports Page on 92.1 KRLS. The field has been set for the Little Hawkeye Conference tournament, as DCG is the No. 1 overall seed, and will play 4-seed Norwalk and 5-seed Pella, as well as 8-seed Grinnell in the round robin pool. Pella Christian is the 6-seed, and will compete against Indianola, Oskaloosa, and Newton on the other side of the bracket. Matches begin at 4:30 p.m. at Pella High School.
