A Knoxville man was arrested Wednesday following threats towards local law enforcement officers, as well as the torture of a six month old puppy. According to court documents, just after midnight Tuesday, Marion County Dispatch received a 911 call from 36-year-old Nathan Adams of Knoxville. During the call, Adams allegedly threatened to place car bombs in law enforcement personal vehicles as well as place package bombs at law enforcement residences. Adams also allegedly made specific death threats to a Marion County Dispatcher, a Marion County Sheriff’s Deputy and two Knoxville Police Officers. Marion County Dispatch was able to confirm the calls were made from 514 East Competine in Knoxville and recognized the male caller’s voice to be that of Adams.
Following the call, at approximately 2 pm Wednesday law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at 514 East Competine. During the search, officers located a marijuana grinder as well as glass pipes with marijuna residue and a six month old female puppy in a kennel in the garage of the residence. The kennel was full of urine and feces, with an emaciated puppy barely able to walk. Officers seized the puppy and took it to a veterinarian for emergency treatment. An examination showed the puppy to be severely malnourished with two broken rear legs and a puncture wound on the top of its head. Adams was arrested and charged with threat explosive or incendiary device, a class D felony, four counts of harassment in the 1st degree, an aggravated misdemeanor, animal torture – 1st offense, an aggravated misdemeanor, and possession of drug paraphernalia a serious misdemeanor.
