After an 0-4 start, Pella Christian football coach Rich Kacmarynski still had confidence that his team had what it would take to win a district championship and earn a spot in the playoffs.  That mettle will be tested tonight when the only two 3-0 teams left in class 1A district 7 collide as the Eagles host Woodward Granger.

“It’s a championship game on Eagle Lane, and that’s always exciting.  Woodward Granger always plays tough, physical football, so we know we’ll have our hands full.  I like my team, I like how we’re playing, and I like being back at home, those are all good things for us.”

A Woodward Granger win would clinch the district championship for the Hawks, but P.C. needs more than just a victory tonight to win it themselves.  The Eagles would also need Pleasantville to knock off I-35, otherwise it’s another critical matchup next week between Pella Christian and the Roadrunners.

But first things first tonight, Woodward Granger at Pella Christian.  Kickoff is at 7:00 on Eagle Lane, and Trevor Castle and Larry Hessing will call the action live on the KRLS2 stream at www.kniakrls.com, beginning with pregame coverage at 6:35.
