State Auditor Rob Sand held a town hall meeting in Knoxville Thursday morning. Sand spoke with the residents from Knoxville and other communities about the work his office does as well as answered questions. Sand tells KNIA/KRLS News he feels his office has had a lot of great improvement with efficiency in the office as well as promoting efficiency throughout the state. Sand says his office has promoted efficiency through its PIE Initiative which stands for Public Innovations and Efficiencies. Sand says with the PIE Initiative his office is compiling a list of best practices for saving taxpayer money. Sand says his office will send questions to local city, county and school leaders to gather information at which point his office will publish the finding and make them public so residents can see ways in which their local leaders are saving them money. Approximately 15 people attended the town hall which was held at Knoxville City Hall.
