Five fumbles inside the Oskaloosa 30 yard line did in the Knoxville Football Squad Friday night in a game heard live on 95.3 KNIA as the Panthers fell to the Indians 30-14. Knoxville had an early drive snuffed out due to a turnover, and Oskaloosa scored to make it 7-0. However, the Panthers tied it in the second quarter on an 87 yard run from Carter Bailey, but more turnovers and another Oskaloosa score had the Indians up at the half. The third quarter was where things got weird for the second straight week. Knoxville Coach Eric Kellar was ejected from the game for what officials determined sideline interference. The Panthers would cut the Oskaloosa lead to two but the Indians scored twice in the last six minutes to put the game away. Assistant Coach Chris Hudson told KRLS Sports after Kellar ejection, he told the guys to keep playing and was proud of how they responded. Bailey ran the ball 13 times for 124 yards and a touchdown while Kieren Nichols was 8/19 for 101 yards a touchdown and interception. Knoxville is now five-and-three on the season and will wrap up the season at home against Newton next week.
