Local Beggar’s nights have recently been announced for communities throughout the area. In Knoxville, Pleasantville and Melcher-Dallas Beggars’ Night will be held Thursday, October 31st from 6-8pm and in Bussey Beggars’ Night will also be held on Thursday, October 31st but will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Chief Dan Losada with the Knoxville Police Department tells KNIA/KRLS News he wants to remind residents not to play in the streets and to walk on sidewalks. Chief Losada says to avoid wearing masks and instead try to use face paint to allow you to see long distances. He says to always have a light of some sort and try to go to houses you know instead of strangers. In Indianola Beggars’ Night will be held on Wednesday, October 30th from 6 to 8 pm.
Beggar’s night in the Cities of Pella, Monroe, and Prairie City will be on Thursday, October 31st. Kids can trick or treat from 6 to 8 p.m. throughout those communities. Area police departments remind parents to ensure their children will be safe by checking candy before consumption, supervising children as they move from house-to-house, and reminding trick or treaters to use caution before crossing any roadways.
