The Central women’s soccer team fell on the road to Simpson Wednesday evening in American Rivers Conference action. Despite out-shooting the Storm 20-13, Central fell by a final tally of 1-0. Anna Tillo led the Dutch with five shot attempts while Erin Manion had four. Goalkeeper Taylor Golt made a season-high six saves. Up next, the Dutch (5-8-1, 0-5-1 American Rivers Conference) will head to Cedar Rapids Saturday to battle Coe at 6:00 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Central men’s soccer team has been ranked number 2 in the first NCAA Division III North Regional Rankings of 2019. This poll helps decide selections into the NCAA tournament field. Conference foe Luther is ranked number 1 and Loras is number 3. The Dutch defeated Simpson on the road 2-1 Wednesday evening.
